Meet your driver at your hotel or riad. Ensure you are ready by 15:00 for a timely departure.
Welcome to Morocco! Your journey begins with a pick-up from the Marrakech airport, hotel, or riad. We head north to Casablanca, the economic and cultural hub of Morocco. Here, we'll visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. After some free time for lunch, we continue our journey to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. In Rabat, we'll explore the Méchouar (the ramparts and walls of the Royal Palace), the Kasbah of the Oudayas, and the magnificent Mausoleum of Mohammed V and Hassan II. Overnight in Rabat.
After a hearty breakfast, we journey to Meknes, another of Morocco's imperial cities, founded in the 11th century. Meknes is known for its grand palaces, mosques, and bustling souks. Next, we'll visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After lunch, we'll make our way to Fez, where you'll settle into a central hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Today is dedicated to exploring Fez, Morocco's oldest imperial city, established in the 8th century. We’ll visit Fes El Bali, the ancient walled city, a UNESCO World Heritage site with one of the world's largest preserved medieval structures. Highlights include the Al-Attarine Madrasa, Funduq Al-Najjarin, Zaouia of Moulay Idris, and the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque, which houses the oldest university in the world. We'll also visit Fes Jdid, the newer part of the city.
After breakfast, we'll head to Chefchaouen, Morocco’s famous blue city. Explore the enchanting medina with its Moroccan-Andalusian architecture. The medina's narrow, winding alleys are a delight to explore, with blue-and-white buildings and terracotta tiles adding to the city's unique charm.
On this day, we'll depart from Fez and drive through the stunning Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Ifrane, often referred to as "Little Switzerland," and Azrou, known for its cedar forests. Keep an eye out for the Barbary macaques that inhabit the area. After a scenic drive and lunch at a local restaurant, we'll continue to Marrakech, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel or riad.
After the dinner and show, your driver will take you back to your hotel or riad.
